2011 – LOGO MOTION
In this game, alliances of three teams each had to collect inflatable inner tubes in the shape of the FIRST logo (the red triangle, the white circle, and the blue square). They then had to hang those tubes up on horizontal poles coming out from walls on each team’s side of the field. Bonus points were awarded to teams who created the first logo by hanging inner tubes on the poles correctly.
2010 – BREAKAWAY
Two alliances of three teams each played this game by collecting balls and shooting them into goals. Whoever makes the most go into the goal wins. Bonus points came from climbing one of the towers in the field, or by helping an alliance member climb a tower.
2009 – LUNACY
Two alliances of three worked together by collecting game pieces (small, hollow spheres – meant to be moon rocks) and then placing them in trailers that were attached to the opposing alliance’s robots.
2008 – FIRST Overdrive
Two alliances of three Scored by making counter clockwise laps around a track, all while carrying massive trackballs (about 120cm diameter) with them. they have to take the trackballs from an overpass, and then maneuver them with each lap by passing over or under them. Many more points per lap are awarded if you are carrying a track ball as opposed to only running laps.
2007 – Rack N’ Roll
Red and blue alliances, three teams each, compete in a match. Teams take toroidal game pieces and places them of the central goal rack, or by having robots in their home zone at the end of the match.
2006 – Aim High
Two alliances of three try to score higher than the other in this game by scoring balls in the corner and center goals. the corner goals were close to the ground, while the center goal is high in the air. The center goal is worth more points than corners. You can also score by having your alliance’s robots on your platform or ramp at the end of the match.
